Andava eu no Campo Alegre, nr. 1055, Cidade do Porto … Fazia sol, céu azul, no meu costumeiro Safari dos cedros de sábado… Nunca olho nem espreito para uma porta aberta, nem um portão… mas neste olhei, parei e depois entrei… e o tempo voou até há uns anos atrás… o palacete Burmester aparecia à direita, aquele belo jardim e o verde da relva ofereciam-se tão bem desenhados, como as memórias que galgavam em sôfrega correria na minha mente… A velha Faculdade de Letras, minha alma mater, na Universidade do Porto, com as suas bétulas, japoneiras, magnólia, araucárias e outras árvores, em que destaco o belo cedro libanês e um bonito medronheiro junto à sala 9… na esquina do edifício, dando para o parque de estacionamento… tantas memórias boas! A todos os meus amigos e colegas, professores e que me ajudaram e comigo estiveram na caminhada nesta casa tão importante, com o vigor e o encanto do cedro, a minha homenagem e a melhor memória!
